Queer 2 The T the #1 Queer Sound, a PR Radio Station program, is a radio show based in Philadelphia, PA serving the LGBTQIA community and its allies locally and globally.

PHILADELPHIA  - Queer 2 The T, founded and produced by International Author and Performance Poet TS Hawkins, debuted September 13, 2011 to its new radio audience. Skyrocketing faster than anyone could ever imagine, Queer 2 The T maintains its mission of providing the community with political commentary, nightlife happenings and arts & culture events through online radio programming. Queer 2 The T aims to embrace all communities and provide a protected environment to examine the similarities in our “differences”. Coupled with bringing the #1 queer sound, Queer 2 The T strives to merge what has been coined “awkward”, “gay”, “inane”, “hetero-normative”, “weird” and “out of the box” into the unified category of humanity; addressing many topics with on-air interviews, outreach and community initiatives.

Queer 2 The T has had an array of on-air topics ranging from Parenting to Polyamory, Poetry and Politics and Galas to Gun Violence. Recently, the team had the opportunity to interview some high profile personalities such as Thomas Glave, author of “Among The Bloodpeople” and Mary Lambert, recording artist of “She Keeps Me Warm” and Macklemore’s “Same Love” before flying out to perform for the first time at the VMA’s. Outside of the studio, Queer 2 The T were media/community sponsors for the New York STUDfashionShow, Afro-Brazilian Film Festival, Qfest, SayIDo Wedding Expo, Temple University’s Poetry as Performance, Diner en Blanc and supported an assortment of theatre productions within the tri-state area!

Turning 2 years old, Queer 2 The T has hit over 30,000 listeners worldwide with many more milestones on the horizon! Celebrating their 100TH EPISODE along with their 2 Year Anniversary, Queer 2 The T is proud to OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE their new partnership with TGo Productions. Launching new radio homes on the WEST COAST and in LONDON as of Monday Sept. 16, 2013, the impressive success is shared by Community Partner M Diggs, General Manager Hilary Asare, Production Assistant Kenya Gayles, Staff Photographer Tara Lessard & Theresa Goss of TGo Productions! Episode 4: Performing Race In America: an Ego Po forum!

Since igniting a national debate with their adaptation of Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Ego Po held a forum at Plays and Players Theater on the subject of Performing Race in America. Panelist Dr. Ania Loomba [UPenn Catherine Bryson Chair of the English Department], Dr. Camille Charles [Head of Africana Studies and Professor of Sociology at UPenn], Lane Savadove [Ego Po Artistic Director], Paule Turner [Choreographer/Actor] and Ed Swidey [Actor] discussed openly with audience members and guests on the topics of “race” and “racism” in Ego Po’s reversed cast portrayal of Uncle Tom’s Cabin and the world at large. Challenging terminology such as “post racial society” and “color blind casting”, the panel and audience charge the flood gates for a much deeper discussion. Out & About gets the inside scoop!!!
